By submitting your order, it is considered by us that you have read through and agreed to our long but important Terms & Conditions. At SUGAR BY J, our bakes are all made to order in small batches. We use quality and fresh ingredients, carefully picked by us to ensure your SUGAR BY J Cake always tastes amazing.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS
We work under the small scale home based business scheme approved by HDB and URA. We bake in the comfort of our home kitchen to make cakes and bakes our family loves for you.
PAYMENT
Payment can be done via IBANKING/ATM Transfers or PayNow/DBS PayLah. All orders are only considered confirmed upon payment of the first $50 Non Refundable Custom Design Fee(includes a basic black white sketch with description and photo references) which can be converted to Cake Credit if you choose to proceed with us.
After confirming cake design and receiving an email order invoice, please ensure remaining payment is done in 2 weeks days prior to your collection for us.
For Single Cakes or Cupcake Orders: Design Fee + Remaining Payment 2 weeks prior to date
For Orders over SGD500: Design Fee + Remaining Payment 1 month prior to date
COLLECTION
Self Pick Up is available nearby Boon Lay, Singapore by appointment only. More details will be sent to you in the confirmation invoice. Unable to pick up at these timings? Get in touch with us to further discuss.
DELIVERY
Need someone to send your cake? Fret not. We engage our trusty Cake Couriers to send our cakes to you. They take much care in transporting your cakes. Please check the condition of your cake upon receiving.
CAKE QUALITY
Behind the doors of our family kitchen, we take food safety and hygiene seriously to ensure not only the wholesomeness of our bakes and the health of our family. Our cakes are baked to order and tastes the best on the day of collection. It is normal for the cake taste and texture to deteriorate after improper or extensive storage.
VARIATIONS TO CAKE DESIGN
Every SUGAR BY J Cake is handmade and may not appear exactly like our published designs. Any cake images published by us may act as an illustration of your selected design. Therefore, there may be slight variations to the look of your cake e.g. design, color and texture. Same Same but Different!
CAKE CARE DURING TRANSPORTATION
Always ensure the cake is kept firmly upright and transported for a maximum of 1 hour only. It is best placed on your lap during vehicle rides or a level surface. Do treat our and your SUGAR BY J Cake with lots of care.
CAKE STORAGE
Most of our Cakes can be stored in the fridge up to 3 days. Take it out 1 – 2 hours before cake cutting to enjoy at its best texture. Try to avoid large temperature changes to prevent the cake from sweating. Buttercream and Chocolate Dripped Cakes should be stored in the fridge away from strong odors. Fondant Cakes are best kept in a very cold air-conditioned room before cutting. Any fondant cake leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
ALLERGIES
We bake in a kitchen that uses wheat, dairy, nut and soy. Please do get in touch with us if you have any special requests.
DAMAGES
Our Cakes are always packed carefully and inspected before it leaves our kitchen. Therefore, we shall not be held responsible for any damaged goods once it has left our kitchen or after our delivery has been made to your location.
CHANGES TO ORDER
Any major changes(cake flavour, cake size, fondant decorations, printed icing and etc) should be communicated at minimum 7 working days before.
Any minor changes (wordings, colours, delivery address and etc.) should be communicated at minimum 3 working days before.
We reserve the right to determine which changes fall under minor and major changes. Additional charges may apply accordingly.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
Upon collection, we are strictly unable to offer refunds, returns or exchanges due to the perishable nature of our Cakes and Baked Goods. Any issues arising after the collection will be considered on a case-by-case basis subject to our discretion.
**CHANGES TO CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY AS OF MARCH 2020
Do note our cancellation policy has been revised in light of the current COVID19 situation.
1. Full refunds will be given to orders(buttercream) cancelled 5(buttercream cakes)/8(fondant cakes/cakes with fondant decorations) working days before collection.
2. Partial refunds will be allowed on a case by case basis and will be reviewed accordingly.
3. In the case whereby we(the cake provider) would be unable to complete the said cake order due to imposed Stay Home Notice/Leave of Absence or other unforeseen circumstances, we would provide a full refund. This applies for the period 25th April 2020 to 1st June 2020.
